Fabrics can be waxed multiple times during the process and dyed multiple times, creating intricate patterns and sometimes causing multiple figures to be painted on top of each other. Because the entire fabric is placed in the dye during dyeing, the fabric is dyed through and can be used on both sides of the fabric.
